Aritzia in Vancouver seeks a Senior Director / Director, Technical Development to lead a team responsible for defining fit, construction, and quality standards across our Everyday Luxury product.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with design, product, and factories to translate creative intent into actionable technical specifications, manage sample development, and develop high-potential talent within a high-performance culture.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of 2D patternmaking and translation into physical garments.
• Sample measurement, construction, and execution evaluation.
• Live model and dressform garment fitting assessment and corrections.
• Garment fit and construction communication using sketches, imagery, and technical language.
• PLM system and patternmaking software experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day function of the department, enabling progressive career development and a great employee experience.
• Determine the approach for developing styles at Aritzia.
• Define world-class standards to guide development and specifications.
• Translate creative intent into an actionable blueprint using fit blocks and patterns.
• Ensure clear and comprehensive instructions aligned to standards for accurate sample development.
• Manage the execution of sample requests.
• Validate that digital and physical samples align with specifications and creative vision.
• Effectively manage and optimize day-to-day operations of technical development.
