Job summary

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) is seeking a Senior Director, Special Products within Wealth Management Operations in Toronto. You will lead a complex portfolio, shape service delivery strategy, and drive governance, cost management, and platform initiatives to support client-focused outcomes.

  • Drive process redesign, standardization, automation, and digitization for scalability.
  • Manage budgets, business cases, unit costing, and workforce planning.
  • Lead multiple Director-level teams and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

What you’ll be doing

Wealth Management Operations supports a broad range of investment products, advisory programs, client account services, and operational activities across Wealth Management. As the Senior Director, Special Products, you’ll lead a complex portfolio of operations that supports fee-based, fiduciary, custodial, proprietary, and institutional product offerings, along with related client administration and reporting activities. You’ll set the strategic direction for service delivery, governance, controls, cost management, and process transformation across multiple specialized functions. You’ll partner closely with business leaders, product teams, technology, governance, and change partners to support business growth, regulatory change, and new product or platform initiatives. You’ll also modernize the operating model through process optimization, digitization, and automation while building a high-performing leadership team positioned to meet current and future client and business needs. How you’ll succeed
  • Strategic leadership - Lead the strategic and tactical operating plan for the Special Products portfolio, setting priorities that align with Wealth Management Operations and enterprise objectives.
  • Operational excellence - Direct end-to-end operations across portfolio administration, fee‑based product servicing, custodial and post‑trade support, client file administration, billing and fee governance, reporting, and related control activities to deliver accurate, timely, and client‑focused service.
  • Risk and governance - Establish and maintain a strong control environment by overseeing audit readiness, regulatory reviews, issue management, remediation activities, and governance practices across the portfolio.
  • Transformation - Drive process redesign, standardization, automation, and digitization initiatives that improve scalability, resilience, productivity, and the client experience.
  • Financial and resource management - Manage budgets, business cases, unit costing, workforce planning, and organizational design to ensure the operation has the capacity and capability to support business needs.
  • People leadership - Lead multiple Director-level teams, strengthen leadership capability through coaching and development, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
