Job summary

ARC’TERYX in North Vancouver, BC seeks a Senior Director, Quality to lead the global Quality function, setting strategy and capabilities for QA, QC, and Materials Quality across our manufacturing network.

You will build a global quality organization, define KPIs, drive supplier quality, and collaborate with ESG, Product, and Raw Materials to ensure product integrity, regulatory compliance, and sustainable practices. This leadership role shapes long-term quality governance and transformation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Certification in Analytical QA Systems, Technology or Engineering with 15+ years in quality leadership.
  • Apparel industry experience is an asset
  • Extensive knowledge of raw materials, technical construction, and quality systems
  • Proven success leading a large, complex, global quality function
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end apparel development and manufacturing process
  • Experience leading transformation and building high-performing global teams
  • Track record of thoughtful leadership and high performance
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven performance with domestic and offshore vendors and manufacturers

Responsibilities

  • Building and leading a global organization of quality professionals and leaders, fostering a culture of growth, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Defining and leading the long-term Quality strategy and roadmap, including global quality systems, governance, and standards.
  • Ensuring the team achieves department goals and establishes KPIs aligned to business objectives.
  • Establishing and monitoring KPIs that measure product integrity, vendor performance, risk management, and quality excellence.
  • Leading the Quality team to ensure effective quality structures at factories and via documentation and risk management.
  • Developing and overseeing a global supply base quality strategy supporting new partner selection.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and vendors to facilitate product and facility certifications.
  • Partnering with ESG to advance sustainability and traceability of products.
  • Partnering with Advanced Concepts to ensure product integrity in bulk production.
  • Partnering with Raw Materials to set quality standards for materials and regulatory compliance.
  • Influencing strategic business decisions through expertise in product integrity and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Design-for-Manufacture processes to assure quality and minimize risk.
  • Designing vendor onboarding programs to adopt our standards from Day One.
  • Proposing long-term strategy for continued product innovation and integrity.

As the Senior Director, Quality, you will lead Arc’teryx’s global Quality function, setting the strategic direction, operating model, and long-term roadmap for Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Materials Quality. You will define the departmental priorities required to support Sourcing and company objectives while ensuring our global manufacturing network delivers industry-leading product quality, integrity, compliance, and customer trust. Through cross-functional leadership and partnership, you will shape the systems, processes, and capabilities that enable the long-term evolution of our quality strategy.

The Sourcing Team builds and executes a sustainable global sourcing strategy that enables us to deliver exceptional product at the right place, with the right quality and cost, and on-time. You will partner internally with Design, Product Development, Raw Materials, Sourcing and Supply Planning, and Sustainability as well as externally with our vendor partners to execute our strategy.

  • Building and leading a global organization of quality professionals and leaders, fostering a culture of growth, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Defining and leading the long-term Quality strategy and roadmap, including the evolution of global quality systems, governance frameworks, organizational capabilities, and product integrity standards.
  • Ensuring your team achieves department operation and quality performance objectives and establishing metrics that support our long-term business goals
  • Establishing and monitoring KPIs that measure product integrity, vendor performance, risk management effectiveness, and overall quality excellence
  • Leading the Quality team to ensure effective quality structure and processes are in place at the factories to secure brand quality standards through product and standards documentation, capacity building, and risk and incident management
  • Developing and overseeing a global supply base quality performance strategy that drives continuous improvement, operational excellence, risk mitigation, and long-term capability building across the supply chain, which includes T1 and T2 qualification standards to support new partner selection
  • Collaborating with internal teams, external partners, and governing bodies to facilitate the certification of products and facilities
  • Partnering with ESG to propel the sustainability and traceability of our products
  • Partnering with Advanced Concepts to ensure product integrity and quality needs are considered and met as new product innovations move into bulk production
  • Partnering closely with Raw Materials to establish raw material sourcing, and quality process standards to ensure consumer quality, sustainability and regulatory expectations are met
  • Influencing strategic business decisions through expert understanding of product integrity, quality risk, regulatory requirements, and manufacturing capabilities and collaborating cross-functionally as a key member of our product leadership team
  • Developing a robust and effective Design-for-Manufacture process that assures quality and minimizes risks
  • Designing a vendor onboarding program that enables new partners to learn and adopt our processes and standards from Day One.
  • Proposing and developing long term strategy in the continual elevation of our product innovation and integrity
  • Building a talent pipeline that is inspiring and challenging to the team
  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree or Certification in Analytical QA Systems, Technology or Engineering, along with 15+ years of leadership experience in quality management. Experience in the apparel industry is an asset
  • You have an extensive knowledge of raw materials, technical construction, and quality systems
  • You have demonstrated success leading a large, complex, global quality function or department
  • You have proven ability to develop organizational strategy, operating models, systems, and functional capabilities
  • You have a strong knowledge of the end-to-end apparel development and manufacturing process
  • You have experience leading others through transformation and building high-performing global teams
  • You have a track record of being a thoughtful leader propelling a high performing team
  • You have excellent critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • You have proven performance history with domestic and offshore vendors and manufacturers
  • You have strong communication and influencing skills
  • You have extreme attention to detail

The salary range for this role is CAD$181,000 - CAD$249,000
