What you'll be doing

Our Personalization team helps shape how we deliver meaningful, relevant experiences to clients by advancing the marketing technology capabilities that power personalization at scale. As a Product Owner, you'll set the vision, goals, and roadmap for a large, complex Squad, ensuring your work is aligned to Crew priorities and broader business objectives. You'll own and evolve personalization platform capabilities across customer data, journey orchestration, and personalization tools, translating business and marketing strategies into clear product priorities and actionable delivery plans. You'll manage a complex backlog, lead release planning, and work across Squads and business units to resolve risks, dependencies, and issues that could impact outcomes. You'll build strong partnerships with Marketing, Data & Analytics, Technology, Privacy, Legal, Compliance, and external vendors to deliver strategic value for clients and the business. Through influence, collaboration, and product expertise, you'll also champion best practices and support continuous improvement across the Product Owner community.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed
  • Product strategy and roadmap leadership - Define and champion the Squad's vision, goals, and strategic roadmap, ensuring priorities are aligned with enterprise marketing strategy, client experience objectives, and business value.

  • Backlog and delivery management - Build, prioritize, and manage a complex product backlog by translating client, business, and technology needs into user stories, requirements, and delivery plans that support high-impact outcomes.

  • Cross-functional partnership - Collaborate with Crew and Squad partners, business stakeholders, senior leaders, and external vendors to align priorities, resolve dependencies, and drive delivery across multiple teams and business units.

  • Platform optimization and performance - Drive adoption, optimization, and maturity of marketing technology capabilities, while defining and monitoring key performance indicators to measure platform effectiveness and business impact.

  • Risk, governance, and compliance - Anticipate and address risks, issues, and dependencies, while embedding data governance, consent management, privacy requirements, and delivery framework standards into platform design and execution.

  • Thought leadership and continuous improvement - Share product expertise, mentor other Product Owners, and champion delivery best practices that improve how teams plan, prioritize, and deliver value.

Who you are
  • You have relevant experience. You can demonstrate experience in product ownership, product management, or strategic delivery within complex technology or digital environments. It’s an asset if you have experience supporting marketing technology, personalization, or client engagement capabilities in financial services or another regulated industry.

  • You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information. You communicate detailed information in a meaningful way.

  • Your influence makes a difference. You know that relationships and networks are essential to success. You inspire outcomes by sharing your expertise.

  • You're motivated by collective success. You know that teamwork can transform a good idea into a great one. You know that an inclusive team that enjoys working together can bring a vision to life.

  • You can demonstrate experience in customer data platforms, customer relationship management tools, journey orchestration platforms, personalization engines, campaign management systems, backlog prioritization, and cross-functional product delivery. It’s an asset if you have experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, consent and data governance frameworks, customer journey analytics, or decisioning capabilities.

  • You have a degree/diploma in business, marketing, technology, computer science, or a related field.

  • Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work, and you live our values - trust, teamwork, and accountability.
