Job description

The Sourcing Director, Procurement North America reports to the Tower Lead and is responsible for the end-to-end execution of sourcing processes for medium to high value and complexity sourcing and contracting initiatives. Under the direction of the Tower Lead and NA Procurement Head, the incumbent develops accurate baselines and commercial sourcing strategies, coordinates supplier selection, and leads contract negotiations consistent with overall category strategy and business unit objectives. The Sourcing Director will be hands-on, leading project teams that include business unit partners, subject matter experts, and other sourcing professionals, taking ownership of execution and results.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead cross-functional teams in the end-to-end execution of medium to high value/complexity sourcing projects, negotiations, and contracting.
  2. Collect and influence requirements, conduct baseline analysis, determine sourcing strategies, and complete actions to drive cost savings and value.
  3. Focus on and drive accuracy in commercials and Price * Quantity analysis.
  4. Leverage market and supplier intelligence, conduct market research to set targets, and drive sourcing value in negotiations.
  5. Maintain continuous learning and expertise in Indirect categories, including Corporate Services and IT categories.
  6. Establish deal teams for large sourcing engagements.
  7. Proactively coordinate and schedule external resources and subject matter experts (legal, risk, finance, etc.) to fulfill all requirements for contract implementation.
  8. Lead commercial negotiations and manage all aspects of the contract negotiation process, with support from Business Units, legal, and risk teams.
  9. Track, monitor, and manage contract renewals and procurement metrics.
  10. Coordinate directly with business partners and vendor/contract managers to initiate renewals and RFXs early.
  11. Provide strategic thought leadership to the sourcing team and support leaders on strategic initiatives.
  12. Deliver procurement savings and drive cost improvements for the company.

Job Requirements:

  1. Experience in Indirect, Technology, and Corporate Services sourcing, with extensive knowledge of IT software/SaaS solutions/vendors and Professional and Business Services.
  2. Undergraduate degree in business, supply chain, finance, IT, or related field.
  3. 6+ years of progressive experience in procurement and strategic sourcing, with solid knowledge of sourcing principles, strategies, tools, and systems.
  4. Tenacity to pursue sourcing value with limited leverage in tactical negotiations.
  5. Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and ownership of deal commercials.
  6. Deep experience with supplier contractual terms to mitigate risks.
  7. Creative problem solver, influencer, and decision maker with attention to detail and ability to present complex information simply.
  8. Team builder capable of fostering strategic partnerships and building buy-in.
  9. Proven ability to deliver aggressive procurement savings and value through strategic sourcing and negotiations.
  10. Excellent customer service skills, able to cultivate value-added partnerships with internal stakeholders at senior levels.
