Patrimonica Asset Management Inc. and its Wealth Management Advisory division are currently seeking a Senior Director, Private Investments.
Main Missions
In collaboration with the Chief Investment Officer, the Senior Director, Private Investments, will participate in research, investment, and monitoring programs for alternative strategy managers, with a focus on private markets funds, including:
- Assist the CIO in prioritizing manager research, selecting preferred strategies and suitable managers;
- Lead the search for new managers within the investment universe and provide documented recommendations to the CIO and Investment Committee;
- Perform detailed due diligence on shortlisted managers, analyzing business operations, investment strategies, risk management, and portfolio construction;
- Monitor current manager portfolios and peers, maintaining comprehensive documentation;
- Proactively recommend changes or terminations to existing managers;
- Coordinate private market fund transactions (subscriptions and redemptions) with internal partners;
- Participate in client meetings, providing updates on investments and potential opportunities;
- Enhance relationships with external managers and peer networks;
- Lead special projects or perform other duties as assigned by the CIO.
Professional Requirements
Profile Wanted
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in manager selection and due diligence roles;
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance or a related field.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong understanding of investment and operational processes;
- Analytical skills and cause/effect reasoning;
- Knowledge of private market strategies (buyout, growth, venture capital, private debt, real estate, infrastructure);
- Understanding of financial instruments and risk-return profiles;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial applications like Bloomberg;
- Bilingual in French and English, with excellent communication and presentation skills;
- Ability to work independently within a team, demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and intellectual curiosity;
- Strong relationship-building skills at all organizational levels;
- Strategic thinking, diplomatic challenge, and deadline management abilities.
