Job description

Maple Lodge Farms Ltd. (MLF) is Canada’s largest independent, family-owned poultry processor, proudly supplying families with Canadian wholesome chicken since 1955. Headquartered in Brampton, Ontario, the company employs approximately 3,000 people across facilities in Ontario and New Brunswick. MLF offers a full range of fresh, seasoned, and prepared chicken products and is the country’s leading Halal meat supplier. The majority of the products produced are fresh chickens sourced from Canadian licensed chicken farmers. Its products are sold domestically through retail and food service channels and are exported to several countries worldwide.

With a strong focus on sustainability, animal welfare, employee and community impact, MLF is driven by a clear mission: to provide the best quality chicken with unparalleled service, guided by our multi-generational family roots.

Maple Lodge Farms is seeking an accomplished operations leader to oversee one of the organization’s most significant manufacturing portfolios. Reporting to the Vice‑President, Operations & Logistics, the Senior Director, Operations - Further Processing provides strategic and operational leadership across further processing facilities, overseeing the production of ready‑to‑eat and tray pack products. This role will play a pivotal role in delivering a major manufacturing expansion while ensuring the business achieves its operational, commercial, and financial objectives through operational excellence, profitability, and successful execution of the business case.

Leading through a team of senior operational leaders, the successful candidate will build high‑performing teams, foster positive labour relations, and develop strong partnerships across Engineering, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Sales, Product Development, Human Resources, and Continuous Improvement. They will foster a culture where the health, safety, and well‑being of employees is a shared priority, while championing accountability, continuous improvement, and cross‑functional collaboration to commercialise new products, optimise performance, and deliver profitable growth.

The ideal candidate brings extensive senior operations leadership experience within complex, unionised food manufacturing environments, ideally in protein or ready‑to‑eat production. They have successfully led large‑scale manufacturing transformations, capital projects, or facility start‑ups, combining strong commercial and financial acumen with a proven ability to deliver business cases, improve margins, and drive operational performance. A trusted, collaborative leader, they thrive in fast‑paced, evolving environments and bring the learning agility, strategic perspective, and hands‑on leadership style to successfully lead through complexity and change.
