Job summary

PICTON Investments is seeking a senior investment professional to lead identification, evaluation, and onboarding of new strategies and external managers into our Alpha Portfolio platform.

You will be the firm’s primary resource for strategy research, portfolio development, and due diligence, applying a rigorous framework to select opportunities and structure deployment within a multi-strategy context.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of experience in the alternative investments industry, with direct exposure to hedge fund strategies, multi-strategy platforms, or alternatives manager research.
• Deep understanding of hedge fund strategies including equity long/short, credit, arbitrage, and niche strategies.
• Ability to evaluate strategies on a net, risk-adjusted basis, considering fees, financing costs, and structural trade-offs.
• Strong knowledge of prime brokerage relationships, cross-margining, and capital efficiency mechanics.
• Experience with both managed account and commingled fund structures; strong communication with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate diversifying strategies and maintain a pipeline of prospective managers.
• Conduct comprehensive external manager due diligence including strategy assessment and risk management.
• Contribute to portfolio construction decisions, including allocation sizing and leverage considerations.
• Coordinate with legal, compliance, and operations on onboarding, contracts, and regulatory considerations.
