Your new role

As the Senior Director, Medical Excellence, you will be responsible for overseeing the Medical Excellence department, including setting strategy in alignment with key stakeholders and ensuring the timely and budget-conscious execution of goals. You will also lead, develop, and coach a diverse team of professionals to foster engagement and build a high-performing team.

The Senior Director, Medical Excellence, will be a member of the CMR Leadership team, reporting directly to the VP CMR.

Day-to-day your tasks will include :

  • Leading a team across multiple functions, including Medical Education & Operations, Medical Omnichannel, Insights & Training, Customer Care, Medical Information, and Grants & Donations.
  • Setting the strategic direction for Medical Excellence and ensuring alignment with overall CMR and business objectives.
  • Overseeing initiatives and projects to ensure timely and effective execution within budget and in compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Building a high-performing team culture through coaching, development, and engagement.
  • Promoting cross-functional collaboration to enhance innovation, data-driven decision-making, and operational efficiency.
  • Tracking, measuring, and communicating the impact of key initiatives, including budget management and governance reporting.
  • Contributing as a core member of the CMR Leadership Team, fostering a culture of transparency, growth, and wellbeing across the department.

The Clinical, Medical, and Regulatory (CMR) department at Novo Nordisk Canada is one of the most diverse and collaborative groups within the organization. From healthcare-provider interactions and developing regulatory strategies with Health Canada to providing medical education and collecting data to support evidence and new product development, CMR is involved. The Medical Excellence team, consisting of Medical Education & Operations, Medical Omnichannel, Insights & Training, Customer Care, Medical Information, and Grants & Donations, is focused on building excellence in execution and delivering value for the organization and our healthcare ecosystem customers.

Your skills & qualifications

We’re looking for a Senior Director, Medical Excellence who enjoys working in a high-paced, dynamic environment. You’ll bring with you :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, including 5+ years in people leadership.
  • Strong analytical and digital capabilities to drive data-informed decision-making.
  • A minimum BSc degree in Life Science or Engineering (e.g., Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Biology).
