What is the opportunity?
In this role, you will be an advisor to the Head, RBC Origins on the evolving design of the Indigenous Strategy for RBC. You will drive change and create strategic impact across the organization by providing support and oversight to ensure that all initiatives are executed effectively and prioritized based on strategic alignment to the Indigenous Strategy. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, address risks and issues, and monitor and report on the progress of strategic priorities.
What will you do?
Define and oversee the RBC Origins portfolio of initiatives to ensure strategic alignment. Track initiative rollouts, dependencies, and key milestones to maintain visibility on execution
Facilitate strategic prioritization exercises to ensure teams focus on high-impact initiatives. Support risk and issue identification, ensuring critical blockers are escalated and addressed
Develop and maintain the program plan, ensuring each workstream lead has defined plans and activities aligned with RBC Origins' strategy
Establish governance processes, protocols, and reporting structures in alignment with RBC’s Enterprise Program Management Framework to ensure clear accountability and execution discipline
Define and maintain a structured approach to performance tracking, ensuring initiatives adhere to objectives and timelines. Implement an issues log and resolution process, prioritizing challenges and tracking resolution progress
Provide oversight and monitor data-driven KPIs and performance metrics to assess execution effectiveness and guide leadership decisions
Ensure rigor in oversight of budget allocations and act as a senior decision maker around strategic budget decisions
Oversee structured status reporting and escalation pathways, ensuring the right stakeholders receive relevant insights
Coordinate communication efforts to drive alignment, transparency, and timely decision-making across the portfolio (across a wide variety of stakeholders and rights holders)
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational background in business, finance, strategy, or a related field
Experience in strategic planning, program management, consulting, or chief of staff roles within financial services, banking, or a related field
Demonstrated track record of developing and executing on multiple strategic initiatives
Strong relationship-building skills and highly collaborative approach, with an ability to influence and drive alignment with a broad range of stakeholders and partners
Effective communication and presentation skills, with demonstrated ability to influence and steward change
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Problem-solving mindset with a focus on driving results and continuous improvement
Nice to have:
MBA or equivalent educational background
Experience working with Indigenous communities, First Nations governments, or Economic Development Corporations
Experience in Commercial Banking
Experience in people leadership, people management and coaching/mentorship
