Senior Director, Government Relations & Fund Development

JA Central Ontario is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Senior Director, Government Relations & Fund Development . In this pivotal role, you’ll drive revenue growth, influence public policy, and lead a passionate team—all to support our mission of preparing young people for success through financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship.

What You’ll Do

Lead fundraising and government relations strategy across corporate, public, foundation, and individual giving

  • Build and steward key relationships with government, funders, and national partners
  • Guide a high-performing team in delivering innovative revenue solutions and stewardship practices
  • Represent JA Central Ontario at senior-level meetings, roundtables, and events
  • Collaborate across departments to align funding with strategic goals and program outcomes
  • Serve as staff lead for the Fundraising Advisory Committee of the Board of Directors
  • Ensure effective use of CRM systems (Salesforce / Causeview) and data-driven decision-making

What You Bring

  • 6+ years of senior leadership experience in fundraising, public affairs, or government relations
  • A proven track record managing and growing multi-million-dollar revenue portfolios
  • Strong political acuity and understanding of public funding structures
  • Experience leading high-performing teams and engaging senior-level stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and partnership development skills
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (especially Salesforce) and digital fundraising best practices
  • CFRE designation or relevant certifications are an asset
  • Passion for education, equity, and youth empowerment
