Senior Director, Chief Operating Office, T&O

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? Leads the strategic vision, oversight, and delivery of business operations for the Transformation and Chief Operating Office ("TCOO"), including governance and horizontal functions for Technology & Operations ("T&O").

Reporting to the Vice President, T&O Transformation and Chief Operating Office, provides strategic and operational support to TCOO’s senior leadership team and collaborates across T&O and RBC functions to drive strategic initiatives and programs.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Leadership & Team Development
  • Drive a high-performing, engaged technical team.
  • Lead, mentor, and coach to foster a positive work environment.
  • Set clear objectives aligned with long-term growth.
  • Communicate effectively and evaluate team practices.
  • Align technology investments with strategy, including governance and IT risk management.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build credibility with key stakeholders including executives and business groups.
  • Partner with leaders to drive cross-enterprise initiatives and analyze large investments.
TCOO Strategy Enablement & Business Operations
  • Lead strategy setting, monitor performance metrics, and drive employee engagement initiatives.
  • Oversee TCOO business operations, including financial and risk policies, budgeting, and resource management.
T&O Governance
  • Lead strategy and governance for T&O Operating Committee, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy and compliance.
  • Manage domains such as IT Budgeting, Strategy, Portfolio, and Risk, ensuring risk mitigation and regulatory compliance.
Investment and Execution Governance
  • Lead T&O Investment Review Board to oversee investments, challenge proposals, and measure benefits.
  • Chair T&O IRB Working Group to review pipeline items and high-risk contracts.
Project and Program Management
  • Lead governance of T&O’s Project Management Office, ensuring delivery excellence and compliance.
  • Support continuous improvement and agile practices across T&O.
Productivity & Efficiency
  • Maximize value from technology investments and optimize workforce utilization.
  • Establish productivity metrics and lead initiatives like SR&ED program.
CIO Navigators & Design Programs
  • Strategically elevate the CIO Navigator program and design function, attracting top talent and aligning with organizational goals.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • 12+ years experience advising senior executives and leading strategic projects.
  • Experience developing large-scale technology strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with application development, data governance, and analytics.
  • Proven leadership of diverse teams and managing multi-million-dollar portfolios.
