Senior Director, Chief Operating Office, T&O

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

Leads the strategic vision, oversight, and delivery of business operations for the Transformation and Chief Operating Office (“TCOO”), as well as governance and horizontal functions for Technology & Operations (“T&O”). Reporting to the Vice President, T&O Transformation and COO, provides strategic and operational support to senior leadership and collaborates across T&O and RBC functions to drive strategic initiatives.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Leadership & Team Development

  • Drive a high-performing, engaged technical team.
  • Mentor and coach team members to promote a positive environment and build capacity.
  • Set clear objectives aligned with long-term growth.
  • Communicate effectively and establish clear ownership lines.
  • Align technology investments with strategy, including governance and risk management.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build credibility with stakeholders including executives and business groups.
  • Partner with leaders to drive cross-enterprise initiatives and analyze large investments.

TCOO Strategy Enablement & Business Operations

  • Lead strategy setting, monitor performance metrics, and facilitate strategic meetings.
  • Oversee TCOO financial and risk policies, budgeting, and resource management.

T&O Governance

  • Lead strategy and governance for T&O Operating Committee (“OC”).
  • Manage domain-specific risks and compliance across IT domains.

Investment & Execution Oversight

  • Lead governance of T&O Investment Review Board (“IRB”) and ensure strategic alignment and transparency.
  • Oversee T&O Execution Assurance (“EA”) to ensure project delivery and compliance.

Productivity & Efficiency

  • Maximize value from technology investments and optimize workforce utilization.
  • Lead initiatives like the SR&ED program and develop productivity metrics.

T&O Horizontal Programs/Functions

  • Drive programs like CIO Navigators and elevate design as a strategic enabler.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • 12+ years of experience with senior leadership and strategic project execution.
  • Experience in developing large-scale technology strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with application development, data governance, and analytics.
  • Proven leadership of diverse teams and managing multi-million-dollar portfolios.
  • Expertise in change management and broad technology understanding.
