Senior Director, Origination,Real Estate Debt

REPORTING TO: Managing Partner, Real EstateDebt

The successful candidate will lead the growth of KVCapital’s Real Estate Debt business unit and presence in the Calgarycommercial real estate market. Developing and maintaining mutuallybeneficial borrower and lending relationships with real estate clientsin the Calgary and western Canadian markets;
Taking ownership inthe origination and management of your own portfolio of clients;
Participating in the growth of the Real Estate Debt team.
Successand compensation will be dictated by your ability to provide expertlevel service to our clients, consistently sourcing and closingtransactions and leveraging your network and industry expertise tobring value to clients and build on KV Capital’s reputation as atrusted expert in the commercial real estate market.

Leveraging both your and KV Capital’s network of key contacts tosource new commercial real estate financing opportunities;
Generating and maintaining strong relationships with existing and newclients to provide a pipeline of deal flow;
Skillfullystructuring mortgage opportunities, including developing andnegotiating terms that balance risk and reward, optimizing value forall parties involved, and ensuring compliance with regulatoryrequirements, industry standards and KV Capital’s risk appetite;
Overseeing the progress of a loan through all stages from inception topost-funding management to ensure credit quality and timelines are metand a deal is retained through ongoing communication with all partiesinvolved;
Generating loan volume and revenue commensurate withyour experience level and professional network;
Meeting andexceeding targets and business goals set by KV Capital; Promoting theKV Capital brand in the marketplace, liaising with internal andexternal stakeholders to achieve growth and position KV Capital as apreferred broker to both new and existing clients.

Abachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, economics, business, or arelated field is required.
~Industry recognized credentials inmortgage brokering and/or advanced certifications such as CPA, CFA, orMBA are considered an asset.
~Proven experience closing annuallending transactions of $100MM+.
~ Experience with buildinglasting relationships, an established network of contacts in themortgage and real estate industries and recognized expertise in theCanadian commercial and/or residential mortgage markets.
~Financial acumen and excellent knowledge of the real estate and/ormortgage industry with experience relevant to land development and/orresidential construction projects.
~ Strong understanding ofmortgage products, market trends and economic factors that affect realestate valuations.
~ Comprehensive understanding of credit risk,effectively identifying, evaluating, and mitigating potential risk ofloss.
~ Excellent analytical skills with the ability to break downcomplex problems and use data-driven insights to guide decisions tosupport KV Capital clients.
