Tru Inc. is actively hiring a Senior Digital Media Strategist to join our high-performing marketing team. We’re looking for a strategic thinker and digital innovator to help drive performance across paid and owned channels. This is a full-time, high-impact role reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, with an immediate start available.

Location :

This role is remote, providing the flexibility to work from home. However, candidates must reside in either the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and be prepared to attend in-person meetings as required. Occasional travel to client sites or conferences may also be necessary.

Position Overview :

We’re looking for a digitally fluent media specialist who thrives at the intersection of data, creativity, and execution.

As a Senior Digital Media Specialist, you’ll play a key role in developing and executing paid and organic media strategies that drive performance and visibility across platforms. You’ll support full-funnel campaign planning, optimize cross-channel media performance, and lead the development of content that resonates in a social-first, results-driven landscape.

This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of digital channels including retail media, strong analytical thinking, and a passion for telling compelling brand stories through performance media. You bring a can-do attitude, a keen eye for both creative and data, and the ability to manage deadlines and deliverables across multiple fast-moving initiatives.

Why This Role Matters :

This role ensures Tru’s digital media and content ecosystem runs seamlessly — supporting flawless campaign execution, elevated customer experiences, and marketing performance at scale. By applying rigorous QA practices and attention to detail, the Senior Digital Media Specialist helps prevent executional gaps, streamline workflows, and drive high-impact, channel-optimized engagement across every touchpoint.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and execute full-funnel paid media strategies across search, social, display, programmatic, and video channels
  • Plan and manage digital media campaigns that align with client goals, seasonal initiatives, and platform best practices
  • Define KPIs, benchmarks, and measurement frameworks tailored to client verticals such as eCommerce, retail, B2B, and regulated industries (e.g. alcohol)
  • Collaborate closely with content, CRM, and owned digital teams to ensure media plans are integrated and message-aligned
  • Recommend media mix, targeting, and budget allocation strategies grounded in performance data, audience insights, and prior campaign learnings
  • Translate briefs into actionable media plans with clear deliverables, timelines, and expected outcomes

Execution and Optimization

  • Oversee campaign setup, launch, and optimization across platforms like Google Ads, Meta, DV360, Xandr, TikTok Ads, etc.
  • Manage audience segmentation, A / B testing, bid strategies, and dynamic creative delivery
  • Supervise pixel / tagging infrastructure in collaboration with analytics teams
  • Collaborate with creative teams on ad format best practices and asset deliverables
  • Monitor campaigns daily and lead weekly performance reviews with internal and external stakeholders
  • Reporting & Measurement

  • Build and review campaign performance dashboards (e.g. Looker Studio, MCI, Power BI)
  • Lead quarterly business reviews with clients or leadership stakeholders
  • Support ROAS and CPA modeling for both acquisition and retention-focused campaigns
  • Ensure tracking integrity across all platforms and maintain clean UTMs and conversion events
  • What You’ll Bring (Experience & Skills) :

  • 5 years of experience in paid media, media planning, or performance-driven digital marketing, with a proven track record of managing and scaling multi-channel campaigns
  • Advanced hands-on expertise across key platforms including Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, DV360, TikTok Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, and Xandr
  • Deep understanding of programmatic buying, bidding strategies, audience segmentation, and media optimization frameworks
  • Proficient in campaign tracking and implementation tools such as Google Tag Manager, Floodlight, and Adobe Launch, with strong working knowledge of GA4, MCI, and Looker Studio for performance reporting
  • Prior experience planning and executing Retail Media Network (RMN) campaigns (e.g., Walmart Connect, Instacart Ads, Amazon DSP) is highly valued
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex media insights into actionable strategies for clients and internal stakeholders
  • Comfortable owning projects end-to-end, collaborating with cross-functional teams (content, CRM, strategy), and navigating agency or high-volume multi-client environments with agility and accountability
  • Success Metrics :

  • ROAS improvement across acquisition and retargeting campaigns
  • On-time, on-budget campaign launches and post-launch optimizations
  • Scalable paid media frameworks developed for repeatable success
  • Increased visibility and sales through retail media networks (where applicable)
  • Enhanced reporting clarity and stakeholder confidence in media performance
  • Working at Tru :
