Job summary

VIA Rail is seeking a Senior Project Manager - Digital Connectivity to lead the design, delivery, and transition of the DC project within the LDRR program. You will oversee project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and successful handover to operations.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years of IT project management experience, fluency in English and French, and a PMP or equivalent background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in information systems management, business administration, computer science, engineering, or related field.
• PMP certification is an asset.
• A combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
• Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken.
• Minimum of 10 years of IT project management experience.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with a focus on program delivery and results.
• Project management experience in digital connectivity, telecommunications, and large-scale projects.
• Railway industry experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the delivery of the Digital Connectivity project, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, quality, and stakeholder expectations are met.
• Manage external suppliers and ensure contracted activities and deliverables are completed on time.
• Manage project planning, team activities, risks and issues, QA, and governance requirements.
• Define and carry-out project stage gates and acceptance criteria with LDRR Quality team.
• Ensure smooth transition and handover of solutions to IT Operations and business teams.
• Provide regular progress reporting and support organizational change management.
