Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Canada is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Developer to join its Global Cyber Security team. You will architect, design, and deliver Zero Trust-enabled services used across the organization, collaborating with product teams to align goals with the delivered features.

A focus on secure, scalable architectures and end-to-end testing will be essential. You will participate in building CI/CD pipelines with security tooling, work on IAM-related solutions, and help drive the modernization of

Qualifications

  • Degree in computer science (BA/BS or MS) and 5+ years of software development experience.
  • 3+ years of commercial software development using Java, JavaScript, Spring Boot, RabbitMQ and SQL.
  • Experience with container runtimes Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-tier applications, databases, and security/data flows.
  • Experience with REST & JSON APIs and SCIM for user provisioning.
  • Git knowledge including tagging and branching strategies.
  • Quality-driven software development with unit, integration and E2E testing.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or GitHub Actions and security tooling like SonarQube, Coverity.
  • Ability to work in teams under pressure and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Fluent English; German a plus.

How your role will add to the story:
We are looking for Senior DevSecOps Developer to join our Global Cyber Security team and worldwide organization. This team delivers Identity and Access Management services (IAM) to our global Mercedes-Benz organization that help us to secure our internal and cloud environments. If you have a history of designing, owning and shipping software, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills, then we want to talk to you.

A day in the life

  • Architect, design, and develop services / solutions / enhancements, e.g. connectors, custom rules, workflows, automations, certifications, and third-party system integrations.
  • Collaborate with application and product teams to ensure the goals of the product are aligned with the delivered feature or service.
  • Deliver experiences that are user-focused and adhere to accessibility standards.
  • Work with the software engineering team in driving innovative approaches to solving complex problems. Participate in User Acceptance
  • Testing and bug-related engineering efforts.
  • Maintain live product availability and provide support.
  • Maintain and promote code standards regarding quality, privacy, accessibility, security, documentation, etc.
  • Assess existing and new Zero Trust technologies, define and implement our Zero Trust roadmap.

Qualifikationen

Mercedes-Benz Star skills, requirements & traits:

  • BA/BS or MS Degree in Computer Science or 5+ years of industry experience (required).
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial software development in languages like Java, JavaScript, Spring Boot, Messaging Frameworks (e.g. RabbitMQ) and SQL (required).
  • Experience with container runtimes such as Docker and workload/container orchestration using Kubernetes or similar platforms.
  • A strong working knowledge of multi-tiered applications, databases, application servers, network infrastructure, security and data flows within these components (required).
  • A strong working knowledge interfacing with REST & JSON APIs as well as SCIM for user collection, provisioning, and deprovisioning (required).
  • A strong working knowledge of Git including tagging and branching strategies.
  • A very quality oriented way of software development, essentially driven by unit, integration and E2E testing.
  • Deep knowledge in building CI/CD pipelines based on e.g. Jenkins or GitHub Actions including Security tooling like SonarQube, Coverity etc.
  • Able to work in project teams, under pressure, facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent communicator, able to engage and effectively respond to diverse stakeholders.
  • Language skills: English fluent; German will be a plus.
