We are looking for a Senior DevOps Specialist to join our ActiVia Networks Canada, Inc., located in Montreal. In this role, you will manage and monitor internal systems and infrastructure in a private cloud environment, contributing to automation, scalability, and security efforts.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Design and implement container-based delivery of software components
2. Automate deployment tasks of components to production, QA, and development environments
3. Define DevOps best practices with production teams
4. Implement CI/CD pipelines for development and QA needs
5. Conduct system tests for security, performance, and availability
6. Develop models to optimize architecture and evaluate performance and reliability
7. Assess, troubleshoot, document, and upgrade operating systems, communication environments, and applications software
8. Collaborate to improve engineering tools, systems, procedures, and data security
9. Develop and maintain documentation for design and troubleshooting
10. Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate code deployment

Qualifications:

Basic & Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science (or equivalent)
• 10 years of experience as a DevOps Specialist or similar role
• Experience with Linux server environments (RHEL, Ubuntu, Debian, SuSE)
• Strong knowledge of containers and orchestration (Docker)
• Experience with Hypervisors (VMWare, KVM, Proxmox)
• Proficiency with configuration management tools (Ansible)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins)
• Knowledge of system/network security and data backup/recovery
• Ability to create scripts using Bash, Perl, or Python
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
• Knowledge of monitoring software (Zabbix, Prometheus, SigNoz)
• Experience with SSO software (Keycloak, OpenLDAP) is a plus
• Knowledge of build automation tools (Maven, Gradle, NodeJS) is a plus
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills in French and English
