Job summary

GFT Technologies in Canada is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a large-scale modernization initiative. The role focuses on deployment automation, infrastructure standardization, scalability, and reducing technical debt across platforms and data pipelines.

You will work with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Kafka, Flink, Java, and Python, and collaborate with teams across North America and Europe. A hands-on AWS/GCP cloud environment will be part of daily work.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or a similar role.
• Strong programming and scripting skills with Java and Python.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Experience with Kafka and Apache Flink.
• Strong knowledge of Ansible and infrastructure automation.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or GCP.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD practices and deployment automation.
• Experience working with large-scale distributed systems or data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and improve automated end-to-end deployment processes for platforms and data pipelines.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure components supporting distributed data platforms.
• Automate infrastructure and application deployments using Ansible and related DevOps technologies.
• Support both batch and real-time data pipeline deployments.

• Improve existing platforms by reducing technical debt, consolidating code, and standardizing implementations.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will play a key role in modernizing platforms and data pipelines, with a strong focus on deployment automation, infrastructure standardization, scalability, and technical debt reduction.

This position requires hands-on experience with DevOps practices, containerized environments, cloud technologies, and modern data platforms.

Key Responsibilities
