About the Role!

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer responsible for ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of infrastructure and applications. This position will work closely with development teams to streamline our software delivery pipeline and implement best practices for continuous integration and deployment.

You will work in an engineering-oriented fast-paced environment, with minimal management and detailed task definition. You need to be a self-starter and excel at making your own decisions and organizing your work according to the declared goals.

This is a remote position with working hours in Pacific Time (PT).

You will

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and GitOps principles with ArgoCD to automate and streamline software delivery.
  • Manage and optimize Kubernetes-based infrastructure on GCP, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Work closely with development teams primarily using JavaScript, TypeScript, and Go, integrating backend and infrastructure components seamlessly.
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Pulumi, enabling consistent and repeatable infrastructure deployments.
  • Collaborate with development teams to implement monitoring and alerting solutions using tools like NewRelic, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Manage and optimize databases, including Redis and Elasticsearch to support application performance and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to infrastructure, application performance, and reliability.
  • Continuously evaluate and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and security.

You have

  • 6+ years of experience in software development or DevOps engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills. with experience in Java21 being a plus.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, or Go, or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Hands-on experience with the cloud platform GCP
  • Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, and version control best practices.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Must be a resident of Canada and be eligible to work in Canada

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with GitOps workflows using ArgoCD.
  • Working knowledge of Pulumi for infrastructure as code.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerization best practices.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (New Relic, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
  • Understanding of data streaming and storage technologies such as Kafka or Cassandra.
