Position Summary

This is a hybrid position based in Ottawa, ON, requiring 3 days in the office.

A Sr. DevOps Engineer is a multidisciplinary role engaging in both Engineering and Operations activities, delivering applications to production. Exceptional automation and software development skills are essential for high-quality deployment and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Support application infrastructure for optimal performance and reliability.
• Collaborate on design and incorporate feedback.
• Implement code efficiently and adhere to standards.
• Review peer code as needed.
• Conduct unit testing and ensure data integrity.
• Document designs, code comments, and user guides.
• Consult on industry best practices.
• Innovate solutions for cloud services.
• Maintain and improve internal tools.
• Enhance infrastructure scalability and reliability.
• Deploy and support automation technologies.
• Provide Level 2/3 support for automation tools.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5-7+ years experience with builds, tools, and software lifecycle management.
• 5+ years experience in Linux and Windows administration.
• 5+ years in Cloud computing and Virtualization.
• Experience deploying web applications.
• Knowledge of cloud service architecture and orchestration tools.
• Understanding of operational concepts like change management and uptime.
• Experience with virtualization platforms like VMWare, HyperV.
• Experience with databases such as MSSQL, MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, Cassandra.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and security protocols.
• Deep understanding of Linux or Windows OS.
• Security-conscious and adherence to best practices.
• Experience with automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation.
• Experience with CaaS/PaaS technologies like Kubernetes, OpenShift.
• Experience with public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) and private hosting.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a distributed environment.
