Senior DevOps – AWS/Cloud

About the role

Our growing DevOps Team at the Data Lab is looking for a Senior DevOps – AWS/Cloud in our Montreal office.

This role is part of the platform support team to the AI Platform, which consists of AWS services on the Cloud as well as on-prem infrastructure. The DevOps will contribute to day-to-day operation on the infrastructure management, security, monitoring, and alerting.

What you'll do here:

1. Assist in managing and maintaining the AI platform, including AWS or other Cloud-based services.
2. Participate in the development and deployment of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions under the guidance of senior team members.
3. Help create and maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CICD) pipelines.
4. Collaborate with different teams to support automation improvements.
5. Contribute to the development of Proof-of-Concept projects to validate new ideas.
6. Work with senior team members to identify and resolve technical issues and participate in code reviews.
7. Support development teams in adopting best practices for DevOps solutions and practices.
8. Assist in performing root cause analysis of business and production platform issues and help in developing action plans.
9. Learn about and recommend technologies/tools to facilitate integrations between product stacks.
10. Support the interpretation of security policies and ensure platform designs align with security guidelines.
11. Assist in implementing observability, best practices, and KPIs in the solutions, and provide support to software development teams.
12. Help implement high availability solutions, including disaster recovery, data recovery, and data backups.
13. Participate in problem management activities to identify improvements and minimize impacts.
14. Collaborate with software development teams to support more frequent and seamless deployments.

What you bring to the table:

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
2. 5 to 7 years of experience.
3. Experience of modern Cloud technologies, such as AWS, S3, Lambda.
4. Experience of DevOps, IaC/CICD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, Terraform.
5. Knowledge of machine learning cycle is an asset.
6. A self-starter, who can drive and follow through the initiatives from the beginning to the end.
7. Excellent communication skills, spoken and written.
8. For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English speaking colleagues across the country.
9. No work experience in Canada required, but you must have authorization to work in Canada.
