Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods in Laval, QC seeks a Sr. Product Developer to drive the creation and execution of new and improved products.

The role includes rapid prototyping, line extensions, reformulation, cost reduction, and ingredient evaluation, with frequent collaboration across marketing, sales, operations, QA, and purchasing. The successful candidate will lead projects from concept through large-scale production, work in laboratories and pilot plants, and travel within the Montréal region and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or college diploma in a relevant science/tech field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years' product development/quality experience, preferably meat/poultry.
• Functional proficiency with Microsoft365 suite.
• Strong written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead or coach people and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of new or modified products from concept to scale-up, including lab prototypes.
• Support production launches and pilot plant activities.
• Develop formulations, SOPs, and bill of materials for new or modified products.
• Collaborate with customers and internal/external stakeholders to advance projects.
• Participate in sensory evaluation and document ingredients, formulations, and specs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with Regulatory Affairs and maintain project documentation.
• Prepare and present technical results to stakeholders and management.
• Maintain project confidentiality and manage knowledge transfer.
