Breakthrough T1D is searching for an experienced fundraising professional for the role of Senior Development Officer, Manitoba.

If you’re a strategic, relationship-driven, and goal-oriented fundraising professional interested in driving regional fundraising efforts and deepening donor engagement across Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario, please read on to see if this is the right fit for you.

Primary responsibilities include:

  1. Implementing fundraising best practices to achieve and exceed revenue and participation targets for peer-to-peer fundraising events such as Breakthrough T1D Walk and Fundraise Your Way.
  2. Working closely with local committee members and national support partners to meet fundraising targets and other key metrics for the annual Cocktails for a Cure gala while successfully delivering the event.
  3. Collaborating with the Development Manager, Alberta & Prairies to strategize and execute regional fundraising plans.
  4. Inspiring, motivating, and engaging event participants.
  5. Identifying opportunities and developing relationships with key donors, event participants, corporate contacts, volunteers, and influential community members.
  6. Building relationships with newly diagnosed families, offering resources and information about fundraising events in the region.
  7. Balancing engagement and stewardship activities of current donors and event participants with prospecting and recruiting new donors and participants.
  8. Maintaining comprehensive records of interactions using CRM systems and other tools.
  9. Collaborating with corporate partnerships and event teams to achieve overall event objectives.
  10. Participating in and attending community events to promote Breakthrough T1D’s mission and fundraising goals.

Qualifications and skills required:

  • 2–3 years of fundraising experience, preferably in peer-to-peer events.
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Communications, Fundraising, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with CRM systems and fundraising platforms is an asset.

  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

Additional requirements:

  • Must be located in the Winnipeg area.
  • Flexibility to travel (~10%) and attend evening/weekend events.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Salary Range: $58,000 - $63,000, depending on experience.

Location: Winnipeg, to support regional fundraising and community engagement.
