We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Development Officer to lead face-to-face major gift fundraising and donor engagement efforts while increasing the visibility of our new parent programs. This is a front-line fundraising role focused on building personal, one-on-one relationships with donors and prospects to secure significant philanthropic support for the school.

As the Senior Development Officer, you will actively manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors, with a strong emphasis on in-person meetings to cultivate, solicit, and steward contributions. You will develop customized engagement strategies that reflect each donor’s interests and capacity, while also leading initiatives and campaigns that foster deep, long-term connections and help achieve fundraising targets.

What You’ll Do :

  • Develops and implements a comprehensive plan for the long-term growth and solicitation of major gift donors ($25K+).
  • Cultivates and solicits current and prospective donors with the capacity to make major gifts by building strong, strategic relationships to advance fundraising priorities.
  • Actively manages a portfolio of prospective supporters through in-person meetings, phone calls, school events, and written communications.
  • Implements agreed-upon fundraising metrics and goals, utilizing Raiser’s Edge to track activities and report progress on a regular basis.
  • Works with the Director of Development to design and implement new parent fundraising programs and initiatives that engage and inspire long-term donor commitment.
  • Partners with the Enrolment team to help identify incoming families with potential to engage as volunteers and / or donors.
  • Commits to some travel and to working some evenings and weekends.

Who You Are :

  • Bachelor's degree and experience in major gifts, preferably at an educational institution; fundraising designation a plus
  • Direct experience and demonstrated success with soliciting leadership gifts
  • Strong project management, organization and planning skills, with a demonstrated track record of program development and implementation and attentiveness to detail
  • Proficiency with Raiser’s Edge and highly developed computer skills with proficiency in Google suites and Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
