Job summary

Fortinet is seeking a Senior DevQA for cloud services development in Burnaby, BC. The role focuses on software testing, automation, and cloud tech awareness, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure high quality releases.

The candidate should have 3–5 years of testing experience, VM infrastructure know‑how, and strong debugging skills across Windows and Linux. A technical degree is required, with a comprehensive benefits package and RRSP program offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of software testing experience.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing and switching.
• Experience with virtual machine environments such as VMware/ESXi or Hypervisor.
• Knowledge of firewalls, Linux, network sniffing tools, or Ethereal.
• Strong knowledge of IPSec, SSL VPN, data encryption and authentication.
• Familiarity with QA procedures, methodologies and software development fundamentals.
• Experience configuring, installing and troubleshooting PC/server software and hardware in Windows and Linux.
• Good analytical troubleshooting skills.
• Strong collaboration and communication across departments.
• Programming scripting skills (shell/TCL/PERL/Python) are assets.
• Knowledge of databases, JSON APIs and Kubernetes is an asset.

Responsibilities

The team is hiring a Senior DevQA for cloud services development. This role requires experience in software testing and basic knowledge of cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with Developers, Product Managers, and others to understand new features, use cases, and customer scenarios.
• Design test strategy, test plan, and test cases.
• Execute testing on products using a combination of manual and automated testing techniques; create, maintain, and execute test specifications and test cases.
• Write and maintain automation scripts.
• Identify, document, and track software defects found during testing.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure defects are correctly identified and fixed.
• Document release notes, user guides, reference materials, and use case scenarios for new releases.

Educational Requirement

• Degree or technical diploma in Computer Science, Computer Technology, or a related field.

Salary

The Canada base salary range for this full‑time position is expected to be between $101,000 – $124,000 annually.
