Job description

This is a 6 month fixed term employee contract initially, with a likelihood of extension.

This role is part of our Personalized Creative team. We create emotive yet conversion-focused ideas, products, and campaigns at scale and speed. Our specialty is hyper-personalized, digital communications that change perceptions, shape new behaviors, and shift market share for our clients including eBay, Ancestry, Walmart, and more!

JOB PURPOSE:

As a Senior Designer for the eBay North America account, you'll lead creative direction, guiding the design team to produce impactful digital marketing assets. You'll work closely with clients, providing strategic oversight while mentoring one direct report. This role requires someone with strong communication skills and the ability to manage both creative execution and process improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and direct design projects across digital platforms (emails, banners, social media) for the eBay NA account.
  • Provide strategic design guidance and feedback to the team, ensuring high-quality and on-brand work.
  • Mentor one direct report, offering feedback and leadership while overseeing their development.
  • Communicate directly with clients, managing expectations and presenting design concepts effectively.
  • Act as the first line of defense, reviewing and addressing feedback before it’s filtered.
  • Improve internal processes and create reliable templates and slide decks in Figma.
  • Ensure designs align with eBay’s business objectives while maintaining DEPT's design standards.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • 3-5 years of design experience, with a focus on digital marketing.
  • Strong proficiency in Figma, including template creation and slide deck building.
  • Proven ability to give constructive feedback and lead junior designers (management experience is a plus, but not required).
  • Excellent time management and client communication skills.
  • Ability to handle difficult feedback and use it to improve creative work.
  • Experience working with clients and managing their expectations.
