Job summary

WSP in Kamloops is seeking a senior Civil Infrastructure designer to lead complex Civil 3D design initiatives. You will drive design quality, set standards, and mentor junior staff while delivering municipal and transportation projects in British Columbia.

Based in our Kamloops office, you will coordinate with engineers and designers, advance templates and automation, and ensure deliverables meet project requirements and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering Design, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of extensive experience developing and delivering complex Civil 3D designs in municipal, transportation, land development, or civil infrastructure environments.
• Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D, including surface modeling, corridors, grading, pipe networks, data shortcuts, and project setup.
• Experience developing and maintaining CAD standards, templates, and workflow processes.
• Strong understanding of design coordination, drawing production, and multidisciplinary project delivery.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop junior technologists, technicians, and design staff.
• Experience conducting detailed QA/QC reviews and implementing quality management best practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, bridging discussions between engineers, PMs, and design teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of complex Civil 3D models, drawings, and design packages for a variety of civil infrastructure projects.
• Establish and oversee project setup requirements, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and alignment with corporate standards.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance Civil 3D templates, standards, and design resources that improve project delivery across teams.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing workflow enhancements and design automation opportunities.
• Mentor, coach, and support junior designers and technologists, fostering technical growth and knowledge sharing.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of models, drawings, and deliverables to ensure accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
• Act as a key liaison between engineers and design staff, coordinating technical direction and resolving complex design challenges.
• Serve as a trusted senior technical resource, providing guidance on best practices, design standards, and advanced Civil 3D applications.

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $89,800 - $118,900

MB & ON: $81,900 - $112,800

NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $81,100 - $107,700
