This pivotal role supports technical project management, guides a team of engineers, and ensures design excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Manager by leading and mentoring designers, technicians, and technologists.
• Provide daily guidance and promote skill development.
• Oversee engineering design activities, ensuring high-quality standards.
• Monitor multiple projects with the manager to meet schedules and contractual commitments.
• Support technical decision-making during project challenges.
• Supervise team efforts to maintain verification and checking standards.
• Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, team members, and management.
• Review team-prepared designs for practicality and buildability.
• Develop analytical skills and proficiency in modern CAD tools.
• Review technical reports, component inspections, and technical discussions with suppliers or contractors.
• Support continuous improvement and uphold ISO 9001 standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Technologist Diploma in Engineering.
• 10+ years of industry-specific experience in engineering, design, or fabrication/construction.
• Strong leadership skills with mentoring and management experience.
• Proficiency in material handling systems and engineering design.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong analytical skills and familiarity with modern CAD tools.
• Experience designing arrangement drawings for bulk material handling systems, steel structures, and adherence to international codes and standards is preferred.
• Teamwork and confidentiality commitment.
