We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join our team developing innovative wearable medical devices. In this role, you will lead and contribute to the full product design lifecycle—from early concept development to design transfer and manufacturing support.
You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to design electromechanical assemblies and jigs, sensors, PCBs, and system components, while driving improvements in manufacturing quality, yield, and efficiency. This is a hands-on role where you’ll help shape product architecture, lead design reviews, collaborate with suppliers, and mentor junior engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to the design and development of wearable medical devices, including enclosures, sensors, printed circuit boards (PCBs), jigs and test fixtures, packaging, and electro-mechano-acoustic system integration.
- Identify gaps and optimize product designs for manufacturing quality, yield, and throughout.
- Develop design specifications, test methodology and criteria, and support documentation and design transfer to manufacturing.
- Co-ordinate internal electrical and mechanical design review and design for manufacturability review with external suppliers.
- Participate in regulatory compliance testing and certification.
- Collaborate with production team to streamline in-house manufacturing.
- Engage with suppliers to optimize product materials and manufacturing processes.
- Maintain design documentation, BOM, and process documentation in quality management system. Provide technical feedback and mentorship to junior engineers.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an accredited engineering program in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Systems Design Engineering, or similar. Masters preferred.
- 7+ years of electrical and mechanical design experience with a focus on design for manufacturability.
- 5+ years of experience in medical devices or related exposure to quality management systems in a regulated field.
- Proven proficiency in product design, manufacturing, and deployment at scale.
- Understanding of electromechanical design integration, ultrasound sensors, and data acquisition.
- Ability to rapidly prototype, debug, and iterate on electromechanical designs.
- Applied expertise developing manufacturing test fixtures and tooling.
- Proficiency in 3D mechanical CAD software (SolidWorks experience preferred with 3DExperience cloud platform).
- Experience designing for various manufacturing processes, including injection molding, 3D printing, machining, and soft goods manufacturing.
- Experience with electrical CAD software (Altium preferred) and design of rigid and flex PCBs.
- A background in analog, digital, RF, and mixed signal electronics design and testing.
We wish to thank all applicants, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted directly. If you are selected to participate in the recruitment process, accommodations are available upon your request to meet your accessibility needs.
