Job Overview
- Conduct or arrange for the preparation of engineering and scientific aspects of power generation, transmission and distribution using mature engineering and technical knowledge.
- Conduct or arrange for analyses of engineering and scientific designs or schemes of work for plant, equipment and systems.
- Act as a Design Team Leader (Leader) for various projects.
- Act as a representative on committees, task forces, etc.
- Maintain an awareness of state-of-the art of the engineering profession and new advances in engineering design.
- Specific areas of support may include technical engineering support, contract support, and/or administrative support.
The candidate required to demonstrate competence, experience and understanding in the following areas:
- Canadian regulatory and licensing requirements for our client Nuclear.
- Applicable codes and standards for our client Nuclear.
- Quality Assurance requirements and standards that are applicable in Canada.
- Developing design/engineering change (“ECC”) packages in accordance with our client’s Nuclear governance.
- Understanding of Project Life Cycle.
DTL Responsibilities
- Perform engineering oversight (EOS) activities required to provide assurance that an engineering activity meets all our client’s procedural requirements and expectations for design quality.
- Ensure that engineered solutions or deliverables meet Fit for Purpose (F4P) principles.
- Share best practices and lessons learned between the DSP and our client’s engineering staff.
- Ensure approved design is constructible, operable, and maintainable safely without any adverse impact on plant’s design basis.
- Foster good working relationships with DSP and help ensure value-added services are being provided to our client.
Qualifications
- 6 years of relevant work experience within project engineering.
- Ideal candidates will have worked in a Nuclear Engineering environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience and/or willingness to interface with vendors.
- Have a strong interest in fast-paced, challenging work environments.
- Proven track record on delivering results.
- Knowledge and experience working within our client’s ECG Process (Engineering Change Control).
- Design Engineer Qualification (QUAL 33685).
- P.Eng License is an asset.
