Job summary

Stream-Flo Industries is seeking a mechanical engineer with strong wellhead design experience to join our project engineering team in Canada. The role focuses on providing technical support, developing new products, and ensuring designs meet API/ISO and safety requirements.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in product design (wellhead or gate valve preferred) and proficiency with Creo or SolidWorks, with a track record of producing compliant design documentation and reports.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or technical institute.
• Membership with APEGA or ASET or eligible to get membership.
• Six or more years in product design experience; wellhead or gate valve experience preferred.
• Proficient with 3D modeling and drafting with Creo or SolidWorks.
• Experienced in ANSI, ASME and ISO drafting techniques and geometric tolerances.
• Thorough knowledge of API/ISO product requirements.
• Solid experience with stress analysis.
• Strong knowledge of design documentation development and control.
• Proficient in writing technical reports and related documents.
• Thorough knowledge of wellhead industry and competitors.

Responsibilities

• Work with Project Engineering Team to provide technical and design support for customer needs.
• Support new product line design and development.
• Execute on all customer orders.
• Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, standards, and customer specs.
• Provide calculations for new and existing products.
• Provide engineering production support to machining, welding, and assembly.
• Provide field service technical support to customers, sales and manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot quality issues with quality department related to material rejects and warranty issues.
• Develop and implement production procedures to support engineering functions.
• Guide junior engineers and technical staff on issues, policies, PM and divisional goals.
• Review and approve engineering work.
• Ensure compliance with safety principles.

Job description

Key Position Functions

• Work closely with the Project Engineering Team providing technical and design support to determine the best solutions to specific customer needs.
• Support new product line design and development.
• Execute on all customer orders.
• Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, industry standards, customer requirements and related specifications.
• Provide necessary calculations required on new and existing products.
• Provide engineering production support to machining, welding, assembly and other departments.
• Provide technical support for field service, the customer, sales and manufacturing.
• Together with the quality department, troubleshoot quality issues as it pertains to material rejects, material review, warrantee issues and custom engineering requirements.
• Develop, write and implement production procedures as it pertains to the support of engineering functions.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and technical staff on technical issues, corporate policies, project management, and divisional objectives.
• Responsible for reviewing and approving engineering work.
• Ensuring compliance with safety principles applicable to the project.

Preferred Candidates Will Possess a Combination Of The Following

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or technical institute
• Membership with APEGA or ASET or eligible to get membership
• Six on more years in product design experience. Wellhead or Gate Valve experience preferred
• Proficient with 3D modeling and drafting with Creo or SolidWorks

• Field installation experience would be an asset
