Job summary

Guidewire’s PDO builds and runs the cloud platform and products powering P&C insurers worldwide. You’ll lead complex database migrations from legacy systems into Guidewire Cloud Platform, combining deep database expertise with a customer-facing mindset to design, automate, and execute repeatable patterns.

This role is critical to how PDO delivers cloud adoption at scale. In this Senior role, you’ll collaborate across engineering, Professional Services, and cloud operations to minimize downtime,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of database engineering experience with 2+ years in data/database migration.
• Deep Oracle and/or SQL Server experience, with PostgreSQL expertise.
• Experience migrating to PostgreSQL in cloud or hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute end-to-end migration strategies from Oracle/SQL Server to PostgreSQL.
• Optimize data transfer and database performance to meet SLAs.
• Develop and automate migration tooling and workflows.
• Validate data through checks and reconciliation pre/post migration.
• Collaborate with PDO, Professional Services, and cloud operations during migrations.
