Job summary
Canada Life is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Specialist, Database to join our Infrastructure & Operations team. You will support, optimize and enhance enterprise database solutions spanning on-premises and cloud platforms.
In a hybrid work model with in-office attendance Tuesday to Thursday, the role offers mentorship, leadership on database projects, and on-call production support. Strong database expertise and collaboration across teams are essential.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise database environments.
- Hands-on experience with one or more database technologies listed.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent collaboration across teams.
Responsibilities
- Build partnerships with application teams to deliver database solutions.
- Design, implement, maintain, and support database environments.
- Perform tuning, troubleshooting, monitoring, and production support.
- Collaborate on new initiatives and database-related implementations.
- Maintain data models and database objects.
- Create technical documentation and best practices.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance.
- Participate in on-call rotation.
- Work across mainframe, distributed, and cloud database platforms.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of reliability and performance.
