Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Database Geologist in Canada West to lead data management for mining projects. You will design and maintain large geological databases and build robust geologic models to support resource estimation and mine planning.

The role requires 8–10 years of experience, strong QA/QC, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams while supporting business development. Hybrid work options are available across Canada.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience managing large databases across project lifecycles.
• P.Geo. or QP designation is preferred.
• Registered professional geologist with accredited association preferred.
• Bachelor's in Geology; MSc preferred.
• Strong QA/QC and data integrity skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain geological databases using Access/SQL or similar tools.
• Manage large and complex databases with data acquisition, validation and QA/QC protocols.
• Analyze data using Access, Excel, MinePlan, ArcGIS, MapInfo, Torque or similar packages.
• Build geologic models with MinePlan, Leapfrog, Vulcan or similar software.
• Author independent technical reports (NI43-101/JORC) when qualified.
• Assist in business development with existing and new clients.
