Job summary

Meridian Credit Union is seeking a Data Scientist for a 12-month contract at our Toronto offices. You will build AI and analytics models, leverage Python, and collaborate with data engineers and analysts to deliver AI-ready data solutions. The role emphasizes responsible AI, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.

Hybrid work is available with regular in-office time in Toronto; travel between our offices may be limited. Experience with Azure data services and Power BI is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience with machine learning frameworks and data mining techniques.
• 2–4 years of experience in data science with Microsoft technologies.
• Proficiency in Python and knowledge of Java.

Responsibilities

• Develop models to support AI and automation use cases across Meridian.
• Develop GenAI and LLM models and obtain guidance from senior team members.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders.
• Analyze large, structured and unstructured data; prepare AI-ready data models.
• Ensure model accuracy and peer review of AI and other predictive models.
• Research, code, and implement advanced analytics and AI models.
• Stay updated with latest data science technologies.
• Ensure documentation and responsible AI practices.
