Job summary

Aviva Canada in Toronto, ON is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Commercial P&C Pricing Modelling & Sophistication team, building models and data-driven solutions that improve customer experience and inform business decisions.

You’ll manage the full model lifecycle from ideation to deployment, collaborate with pricing and tech partners, and contribute to model monitoring, ensuring scalable, reproducible results.

Qualifications

• MSc or higher degree in computer science, engineering, math, statistics, physics or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience with model development and working with large datasets.
• 3+ programming experience in Python with good software engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Transform datasets into meaningful conclusions and recommendations.
• Develop machine learning and statistical solutions for pricing and customer insights.
• Lead end-to-end data science projects from planning through deployment and monitoring.
• Improve modelling practices and ensure reproducibility of work.
• Maintain a growing set of data mining tools and frameworks.
• Communicate insights and recommendations to non-technical partners.
