Job summary

HelloFresh in Toronto, Canada, is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to build, test, and deploy statistical and ML models, driving data‑driven insights for customers, products, and operations. The role collaborates across teams to implement end‑to‑end AI strategies and scalable data solutions.

You will lead AI, ML pipelines, and Generative AI applications, while coaching junior scientists and staying current with evolving frameworks. Flexible hybrid work with Canada-wide opportunities is offered.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years leading data science projects and driving quantifiable business value.
• Experience integrating AI models into existing business workflows and production software applications.
• Strong Python programming and SQL querying skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM, Economics, or Business, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with MLOps/LLMOps frameworks, API integrations, and model monitoring in production.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and deploy statistical and machine learning models to drive understanding of customers, products, and operations.
• Collaborate with data engineers and business units to design end-to-end AI integration strategies.
• Lead design, building, fine‑tuning, and deployment of data and AI solutions, including ML pipelines and Generative AI applications.
• Architect and integrate AI models, APIs, and microservices into production environments with focus on security and scalability.
• Coach junior data scientists on AI engineering and project delivery.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ML frameworks and identify novel business applications.
• Liaise with global data science teams for cross-functional collaboration and technology adoption.
• Contribute to development and governance of MLOps/LLMOps platforms in Canada.
• All other duties as assigned

Job description

The Senior Data Scientist is responsible for building, testing, and deploying statistical and machine learning models, and conducting data deep dives which drive a better understanding of our customers, products, and operations. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Science and Engineering, this role will be responsible for devising and building effective and scalable data‑driven solutions.

Lettuce Share What This Role Will Be Responsible For

• Collaborate with data engineers, data analysts, enterprise architects and functional business units to design and execute end‑to‑end AI integration strategies across business workflows.
• Lead the design, building, fine‑tuning, and deployment of data and AI solutions, including statistical models, ML pipelines, Generative AI applications, and advanced statistical analysis.
• Architect and integrate AI models, APIs, and microservices into production environments, ensuring seamless operational performance, security, and scalability.
• Coach junior data scientists on AI engineering, ML integration best practices, and effective data science project delivery.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of emerging machine learning, deep learning, and Generative AI frameworks, identifying novel applications for the business.
• Liaise with Global data science teams to identify opportunities for cross‑functional collaboration, code reviews, joint AI initiatives, and the adoption of new technologies.
• Contribute to the development, implementation, and governance of the global MLOps and LLMOps platforms in Canada.
• All other duties, as assigned

• Strong proficiency in Python programming and modern ML/AI frameworks
• Advanced SQL querying skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM, Economics, or Business preferred, or equivalent work experience.
