Job description

Job Title: Sr. Data Scientist
Location: Victoria, British Columbia
Reports To: Director, Advanced Analytics
This role will begin in-person as part of a co-working space located in downtown Edmonton. We are actively exploring dedicated office space for a future date in the same area.

We are looking for a talented Data Scientist to join Inspirato’s Advanced Analytics team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning to uncover insights and support strategic decision-making. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams - including engineering, product, business intelligence, and business stakeholders - to develop advanced analytics models and LLM solutions that enhance and personalize the experiences we offer to our customers.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement advanced modeling techniques using Databricks, Python, and SQL to generate actionable insights and personalized solutions
2. Collaborate with software developers and machine learning engineers to deploy analytical models into production
3. Conduct analytical experiments to address complex business challenges across multiple domains
4. Act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, on time, and aligned with business objectives
5. Identify key business problems and deliver data-driven solutions that provide meaningful impact
6. Source, collect, and process large structured and unstructured datasets, identifying relevant data sources to support business needs
7. Collaboration with business to improve trust and adoption of ML models

Required skills and qualifications:

1. Seven years of experience in data science, with a strong background in machine learning
2. Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) is a plus
3. Hands-on experience deploying machine learning (ML) models in production environments and additional expertise in ongoing production support
4. Proven ability to translate business needs into actionable insights and ML solutions
5. Proficiency in machine learning tools, including SQL and Python, along with expertise in statistical and ML packages. Experience with Pyspark is a plus
6. Experience with marketing data and machine learning models for marketing is a plus.

Compensation: $105,000 - $130,000 CAD Base Salary
We believe in building a compensation structure that reflects the comparable market pay rate for positions at companies similar in size, revenue generation and geographic location; in addition to individual factors including seniority, performance-based merit, education/training, and experience related to scope of responsibilities.
Bonus: Eligible for the company’s bonus plan, with a target of up to 10% of your annual salary.
Paid Time Off: Accrues each pay period, totaling 15 days annually, plus nine paid holidays.
FAM Trip: After one year of employment, eligible for one three-to-four-night stay per calendar year in an Inspirato property, subject to availability and program terms.
