  • Assess potential value, risks and costs of new solutions
  • Architect solutions derived from functional and non functional requirements
  • Data Extraction and Analysis: Using a mastery of SQL, query our petabyte-scale data warehouse to extract and work with data
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis, statistical testing, and feature engineering
  • Work with data engineers to form requirements for data pipelines and feature stores
  • Review work from other team members to assess for accuracy and completeness
  • Develop and own end-to-end machine learning system(s)
  • Work with engineers to deploy models in a cloud environment (batch/real-time predictions, microservices, and monitoring)
  • Assist junior members of the team with additional data systems
  • Be a recognised expert in specific areas of machine learning within the business
  • Statistical testing and experimental design: Work with stakeholders to design experiments and analyse results
  • Contribute to our Bayesian A/B testing platform
  • Communicate technical results clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Promote a statistically driven approach to problem solving within the company
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate project goals, progress, and outcomes with production, design, and engineering teams.
  • Excellent presentational and data visualization skills
  • Work closely with senior members of stakeholder teams to understand their future requirements
To be successful in this role, your background includes:
  • Master's Degree in a STEM discipline, preferably thesis-based
  • 4+ years of industry experience in data science, preferably in large scale client-facing software/web/application companies
  • Deep knowledge of machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn and PyTorch
  • Experience deploying machine learning models into production
  • Expert SQL skills and appreciation for data engineering principles
  • Strong data visualization skills, preferably with Tableau
  • Comfortable in cloud environments, particularly GCP and Databricks
  • Can drive projects independently, maneuver through imperfect data or experimentation, and pivot goals or targets with ease
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior team members
  • Communicates in a clear, concise, and professional manner with staff at all levels; justifies decisions, and achieves peer consent
