Job summary

FCC seeks a Senior Data Scientist to lead complex analytics initiatives, develop models, and translate findings into actionable insights for business leaders. You will guide technical approaches, mentor teammates, and collaborate with stakeholders across FCC.

The role requires a master’s degree and at least six years of experience in data science or analytics, with proficiency in SAS, Python, R and AWS, and a hybrid work setup in Ontario, Canada.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related domain or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum six years of experience in data science, analytics, economics, finance, corporate and commercial credit rating, risk management, credit risk modelling, credit portfolio management or information technology.
• Extensive knowledge of one or more relevant domains and advanced analytics methodologies.
• Proven expertise in predictive and descriptive analytics techniques and statistical modelling.
• Demonstrated proficiency with SAS, MS Power BI, AWS tools, R and Python.
• Strong mathematical or statistical background.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts effectively to non-expert stakeholders.

Leverage your expertise in advanced analytics, statistical modelling and data science to unlock insights from complex internal and external data and support informed decision-making across FCC.

As a Senior Data Scientist, you’ll lead complex analytics initiatives, determine technical approaches and tools, and develop models that help explain past performance and project future scenarios.
