Job summary

CoStar Group, a global real estate information leader, seeks a Senior Data Quality Engineer in Toronto to build and operate testing for the enterprise data platform.

You will design end-to-end validation, create reusable testing frameworks, and partner with product and data teams to translate definitions into measurable tests. The role emphasizes data quality, CI/CD integration, and scalable test data management.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Data Quality Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on testing of ETL/ELT data pipelines end-to-end.
• Advanced SQL for data analysis and reconciliation.
• Scripting or automation skills, preferably Python.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake preferred).
• Experience with dbt, Airflow, AWS Glue, or similar tools.
• Ability to translate business definitions into executable tests.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute testing strategies for ETL/ELT pipelines and data products.
• Validate data end-to-end from source ingestion to final output.
• Perform source-to-target reconciliation for completeness and accuracy.
• Build regression coverage and test-data management.
• Develop automated validation frameworks using SQL, Python, dbt, and related technologies.
• Integrate quality checks into CI/CD and release workflows.
• Provide objective quality evidence and release-readiness recommendations.
• Establish monitoring for data-quality indicators.
