Job summary

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of experience in data governance within financial services.
• Post-secondary degree in Business, Information Management, Computer Science or related field.
• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, data quality and data lifecycle management.
• Experience with Collibra, Alation, Informatica or similar enterprise data governance tools.
• Hands-on experience working with databases, data models, SQL and related technologies.
• Experience with ServiceNow ITAM and CMDB preferred.
• DCAM (Data Management Capability Assessment Model) certification or training is considered an asset.

BMO is hiring a Senior Data Governance Analyst in Toronto to strengthen how the bank governs, catalogues and controls its enterprise data, working across business, technology, risk and compliance teams. The bank prints the full pay range on the advert, which is still unusual at this level in Canada. The filter is narrow and specific: five to eight years of data governance or data management work inside financial services, plus hands-on time in tools like Collibra, Alation or Informatica.

Requirements:

• 5-8+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management or related disciplines within the financial services industry
• Post-secondary degree in Business, Information Management, Computer Science or related field
• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, data quality and data lifecycle management
• Experience with Collibra, Alation, Informatica or similar enterprise data governance tools
• Hands-on experience working with databases, data models, SQL and related technologies
• Experience with ServiceNow ITAM and CMDB preferred
• Experience supporting Data Risk, Technology Risk, Operational Risk or related control functions preferred
