Job summary

Credit Genie is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own scalable data pipelines across Snowflake and AWS. You will design, build, and operate data products that empower analytics and downstream applications, collaborating across teams to ensure data reliability and availability.

You will work on building robust ETL/ELT workflows, optimize performance, and strengthen data quality and observability. This role requires strong SQL, Python, and cloud data warehousing experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Data Engineering or related experience.
• Advanced SQL and Python for data processing.
• Experience with Snowflake and AWS.
• ETL/ELT, orchestration, and data modelling.
• Experience with data quality controls, monitoring, and observability.
• Git-based development, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Ability to solve complex technical problems and communicate tradeoffs to stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, development, and operate reliable data pipelines for first‑party and third‑party data across batch, streaming, and change data capture (CDC) patterns.
• Lead the technical design of ETL/ELT and orchestration workflows, selecting patterns for performance, scalability, and cost.
• Develop high-quality SQL and Python solutions for transformation, validation, automation, and complex data processing, with maintainable engineering practices.
• Design and strengthen data quality, freshness monitoring, alerting, and observability to detect issues before impacting downstream users.
• Optimize Snowflake workloads, storage, and pipeline architecture for reliability and cost efficiency.
• Lead investigation of complex production data incidents and implement durable fixes to improve resilience.
• Collaborate with Analytics Engineering, Data Science, Product, and Engineering to define dependable data contracts and data products.
• Drive and evolve engineering standards, testing, version control, CI/CD, documentation, and provide code reviews.
