Venterra Realty is seeking a Senior Developer, Data Engineering for a 6-month contract in a hybrid role based in Richmond Hill, Ontario. The candidate will drive data stack modernization, migrating from ETL tools to a cloud-native ELT stack on AWS using Python, Airflow, DBT, and Snowflake.

The role requires strong SQL expertise, data modelling skills, and experience building scalable data pipelines, with collaboration across analysts and data scientists to deliver reliable analytics.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Strong expertise in SQL with Snowflake and SQL Server.
• Proficient in Python.
• Experience with Apache Airflow, DBT, and scalable data workflows.
• Cloud-native data architectures on AWS.

Responsibilities

• Migrate data models from SQL Server to Snowflake with minimal oversight.
• Implement data quality checks and monitoring to ensure data accuracy.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to meet data needs.
• Develop and maintain documentation for data engineering processes.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Stay updated with industry trends and recommend improvements.
