Summary

The demand for data insights is increasing. The Senior Business Intelligence Developer will need to find innovative ways to extract, load, and transform data from various sources. Creativity in design is essential, as projects and requirements will frequently change. The role involves developing robust data pipelines for efficient data ingestion, processing, and storage, designing data architecture to support BI initiatives, and creating optimized dashboards and data warehouses focused on usability, performance, flexibility, and standardization. Reporting to the Team Leader, Insight & Analytics, the Senior BI Developer will handle these duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Serve as a technical expert and key resource across multiple disciplines.
  2. Gather requirements and convert them into business and technical documentation.
  3. Maintain relationships with business leaders to identify pain points and develop reporting solutions.
  4. Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for data models, reports, and dashboards.
  5. Create visually appealing dashboards based on requirements.
  6. Develop automated reports across all business functions to provide competitive advantages and facilitate better decision-making.
  7. Build and maintain backend solutions (views/models) for use by other BI developers, business users, and for customer-facing reports.
  8. Assist with operational and customer support for in-house products.
  9. Optimize existing BI systems for improved performance.

Required Experience

  1. 5+ years experience in business processes within manufacturing, especially Supply Chain Management and Production.
  2. Strong analytical skills for transforming data into meaningful reports and visuals.
  3. Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, MIS, finance, statistics, or related fields.
  4. Over 2 years experience with cloud platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, MongoDB, and Azure Data Flow.
  5. Proficiency in Python, including OOP and functional paradigms.
  6. Understanding of Spark and distributed systems, including data transformations, RDDs, DataFrames, and Spark SQL.
  7. Excellent SQL skills and database management expertise.
  8. Experience with master data management processes.
  9. Knowledge of data lakehouse and medallion architecture using Delta Lake in Azure Databricks.
  10. Proficiency in developing RESTful APIs.
  11. Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills.
  12. Commitment to continuous learning in Azure Databricks and data engineering.
