Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the development of advanced reporting solutions using DBT, Snowflake, Claude.AI, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Python, Excel and PowerPoint.

You will pioneer AI-enhanced reporting, collaborate with senior stakeholders to address complex business needs, and guide data governance and best practices while mentoring teammates in a hybrid Toronto-area role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or related analytics discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or similar roles leading complex reporting projects.
• Proficiency with DBT, SQL, Alteryx, Snowflake, Power BI, Tableau, Python, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Hands-on experience designing AI solutions and ML algorithms for business problems.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and development of data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting using DBT, SQL, Python, Claude.AI, Power BI, Tableau, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to define reporting needs and deliver actionable insights.
• Instrument AI and ML techniques to innovate reporting and generate predictive insights.
• Analyze large datasets to uncover trends informing strategic decisions.
• Ensure data governance, integrity, and best practices; mentor team members.
