Vantage is growing again and we are looking for Sr Data Engineer to join our team. We are a fully remote team, but are primarily based in southern Ontario, and get together in person at least once a month for planning, team building and group work. We foster a positive team environment focused on collaboration and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

As a Data Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing and scaling our data infrastructure that is used to collect, process and analyze our massive data set. Using a wide variety of cutting-edge technologies, we continue to push the boundaries of what's possible and we are excited for you to come and share your knowledge.

What you will do?

• Build Scalable Data Systems - Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines, ETL / ELT workflows, and data warehouses to support large-scale retail media analytics.
• Manage Big Data & Streaming Platforms - Handle real-time and batch processing at scale.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally – Work closely with data scientists, analysts, software engineers, and product teams to ensure seamless data integration and access.
• Ensure Data Quality & Governance – Implement robust monitoring, validation, and security controls to maintain high data reliability.

What We’re Looking For :

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, big data, or distributed systems.
• Strong expertise in Python, SQL (or equivalent big data processing frameworks).
• Proficiency in ETL / ELT pipelines using Apache Airflow, or similar orchestration tools.
• Experience working with real-time streaming data (Kafka, Kinesis, or Pub / Sub).
• Strong understanding of data modelling, data warehousing, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with privacy-compliant data processing (GDPR, CCPA) for advertising / retail media use cases.
• Bonus : Experience with data lakes, ML pipelines, or advertising technology (AdTech / MarTech).
