Job description

Join us to apply for the Senior Data Engineer role at Cohesity.

Cohesity is a leader in AI-powered data security and management. Aided by an extensive ecosystem of partners, Cohesity makes it easy to secure, protect, manage, and get value from data — across the data center, edge, and cloud. The company helps organizations defend against cybersecurity threats with comprehensive data security and management capabilities, including immutable backup snapshots, AI-based threat detection, monitoring for malicious behavior, and rapid recovery at scale.

We’ve been named a Leader by multiple analyst firms and have been globally recognized for Innovation, Product Strength, and Simplicity in Design.

Join us on our mission to shape the future of our industry.

As a Senior Data Engineer at Cohesity, you will partner with multi-functional teams on ad-hoc analyses and provide strategic support to the executive team. Your work will have a direct impact on our success and help shape our future.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and resourceful individual who seeks to “tell the story” of the data with little direction or supervision. The purpose of this role is to develop and implement technical solutions to ingest data from disparate source systems into data lake / cloud-based data warehouse solutions and further transform the data to be consumed by downstream applications, primarily for corporate analytical reporting.

How You'll Spend Your Time Here

  • Establish and maintain data pipelines (real-time and batch).
  • Develop and maintain code for data ingestion and transformations.
  • Validate and perform testing.
  • Perform migration and production releases.
  • Provide documentation for deliverables.
  • Work in an agile environment.
  • Optimize and modify code to improve performance.
  • Establish core data management principles and best practices.
  • Lead initiatives and projects across multiple functional areas.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members.
  • Enhance the data platform and introduce automation adhering to standards.

We'd Love to Talk to You If You Have Many of the Following:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, e.g., Computer Science.
  • At least 5-6 years in data warehousing, analytics, databases, or pipelines.
  • Experience in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with Snowflake cloud data warehouse.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools, preferably Matillion.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, preferably Data Vault 2.0.
  • Experience working with Linux and APIs.
  • Experience with version control systems like GitHub or GitLab.
  • Strong communication skills and technical expertise.

The position offers a salary range of $122,400 - $153,000 annually, depending on skills, experience, and location. It may include bonuses, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
