Job description

Marqeta is looking for talented Data Engineers to join our Data Science team. As a Senior Data Engineer you will be reporting to the Manager of Data Science in this role you will be responsible for building resilient scalable pipelines that ensure accurate transaction data and money movement each day. In this role you should be able to help with process automation through scripts and you must possess strong SQL and Python skills.

The Impact Youll Have

• Build resilient scalable data pipelines to ensure accurate and timely fund movements that are critical to Marqetas business
• Drive automation acoss the data lifecyclepipelines quality checks lineage tracking and anomaly detection
• Partner with data analytis teams to build infrastructure that enables easy access to reliable data for analysis product development and business logic implementation
• Work with business stakeholders to solve data-related problems by matching business objectives with existing solutions and ad-hoc analytics
• Build automation through Python scripting or other methods
• Work cross functionally with Product Tech Ops and Bank Partners to progress against business objectives

Who You Are

• 5 years of data engineering experience working with large data sets
• Strong SQL and python skills including experience with data modeling warehousing and building ETL pipelines
• 4 years of analyzing and interpreting data with Snowflake Oracle NoSQL etc. experience
• Experience with Git Snowflake and Airflow are a plus
• Foundation of integrity and strong character to consistently represent Marqetas values
• Self-starter who is a consummate team player and is willing to dive into ambiguous problems
• Ability to communicate prioritize and deliver. Highly motivated and able to work in an agile environment.

• Experience in payments financial services and / or fintech industries
• Exceptional interpersonal communication and influencing skills with the ability to work with stakeholders across different functions and levels both internally and with partners.
